Project Description

What happens when you mix a vintage Art Deco house with a deep love of Shag? A beautiful, quirky mash-up of vintage and mod, with a splash of Tiki!  We removed walls separating a narrow galley kitchen from its adjacent butler’s pantry,  creating one larger L shaped kitchen and expanding sight lines and storage space without adding additional square footage. Using a mix of custom depth cabinetry and luscious dimensional handmade tile, we honored the art deco nature of the house while still updating the functionality and flow of the spaces. Adjacent rooms got new arches to better fit the design of the house, as well as additional sconces, new fireplace hearth tile and built in cabinetry. Rounding out the renovation was in the incorporation of 11 new retrofit windows, married into the existing openings with moldings that transformed the windows both inside and out.
